Frequently Asked Questions

Service

We’re not traditional wealth managers—we’re decision partners. Unlike firms that focus primarily on investment management, we integrate everything: tax strategy, estate planning, cash management, investments, reporting, and administrative support into one comprehensive approach. Our fractional family office model gives you the expertise of a full family office at a fraction of the cost.

We charge a flat annual fee based on your unique scope of services and financial complexity—not the size of your assets. This ensures our advice remains objective and aligned with your goals. Our engagements are 18 months initially with annual renewals thereafter, with fees billed quarterly in advance (January, April, July, October), and an annual inflation adjustment to maintain service quality.

You get access to a full team of specialists—wealth strategists, investment advisors, reporting analysts, and administrative support—without the overhead of hiring them full-time. Think of us as your outsourced financial command center.

Client Fit

Our typical clients have $30M-$300M in net worth, but it’s really about complexity, not just size. If your tax return is driven by investments rather than W-2 income, and you’re spending significant time managing financial complexity, we’re likely a good fit.

Many of our clients were successful self-managers. As wealth grows, the time and mental bandwidth required increases exponentially. We help you reclaim that time while often uncovering blind spots in tax strategy, estate planning, or risk management you might not have considered.

We often work alongside your existing tax, legal, and investment professionals, serving as the quarterback who coordinates everything. Many clients find this actually improves their relationships with other advisors by providing better organization and communication.

Expectations

We’ll need recent tax returns, estate planning documents, business information, relevant account statements, and a personal balance sheet if you have one. Don’t worry about organizing everything perfectly—part of our value is helping you get organized.

Our discovery process consists of two 90-minute meetings. If we both decide it’s a good fit, complete onboarding typically takes 60-90 days to fully integrate all your financial information and begin executing on strategy. We can often provide immediate value on urgent tax or investment decisions during this period.

Most clients meet with us quarterly for comprehensive reviews, with monthly check-ins for more active situations. But don’t wait for scheduled meetings—you hired a decision partner, not a calendar slot. Call us when you’re facing a major decision.

Practical

Yes, we can serve as your investment manager for liquid assets. We also help administer and monitor private investments, real estate, and business interests that we don’t directly manage.

Absolutely. We’re legally required to act in your best interest, and we have no products to sell or commissions to earn. Our only compensation comes from the transparent flat fees you pay us.

Location

While we’re based in Austin and love working with local families, we serve clients across Texas and beyond. Many clients appreciate our Texas values and approach regardless of where they’re located.

Absolutely. Our Austin office is designed for client meetings, and we love hosting clients for quarterly reviews, special events, and our periodic Supper Club gatherings. We can also meet virtually if that works better for you, and sometimes travel to meet with clients.
